Headline News Here's the story. Sunday Morning, Rags, Laurie & Tim DeSalvo, and Chuck Zendner arrived at the R.I. Airport to catch their airplanes back home after the USS NN Work party. As you know, the airports are "Profiling Passengers" and if you fit the profile of a Terrorist, then you have to go through intense scruitny. It seems that the Laurie DeSalvo fits the profile and was detained. Because her luggage is with Tim's, airport security also detained Tim DeSalvo. Master Chief (Rags) Ragland steps up to the arresting officer (see picture below) to straighten this out, explaining to the airport security staff "It's OK, they are with me". So airport security detained Rags also! ! ! The arresting officer looks at me (Chuck Zendner), who exclaims "Hey, I have never seen these people before in my life", so I did not get detained. Strange that the security officer did not notice I was wearing the same USS NN Ball Cap that Rags and Tim were wearing! In the below picture, Laurie is saying to the security officer "What do you mean I may be a terrorist!?!?! You want to see some terror? Take a look at that at the Master Chief standing behind you!"

"Oh, this could be fun!" Pictured below are Rags and the DeSalvos being escorted to the area
where Terrorists are examined.
Laurie does
not seem to be too worried about this inspection of their luggage, the
bodies, and possible long prison term. If she
only new what the legal system had in store for her, she would not be smiling! |

At Interrogation Central This is where the terrorists were notified of the special x-ray system that their baggage was going to be put through and told of the Strip Search that they themselves will be subjected too. Hearing about being "strip searched" was when Rag's started liking this ordeal! ! !
This
is also when Laurie started to scream her protest. |

"Laurie! Quick, take this and hide it some where on you!"
Tim DeSalvo opens his luggage while the security guard was
not looking and removed some contraband from hiding and
told Laurie to hold it for a while. After the inspection, Rags and Tim
were set free, but Laurie was arrested for "possession of contraband". |

"Three set free, one arrested ! ! !"
Laurie was taken off to where ever they take terrorists and
the three of us went to the Bar for a "we survived airport security drink". Unfortunately,
the airport does not serve alcohol before noon, so Rags didn't get his
beer, but we pretended to have to have a celebration drink, as seen in the
below picture. We are all going to miss Laurie for the next 5 to 8 years.
Possible 2 years with good behavior.

| Disclaimer: Very little of this story is
true. Additional parts of the story were added for entertainment value! Yes, Rag's and the DeSalvos did have to go through a lot of extra "Security Checks" at the airport, but there was no "illegal contraband" and Laurie did not really get arrested. That was added for fun. I still think it all started because Laurie DeSalvo looks like a terrorist! Also, I should say, that the airport security personnel were very nice people. The only airport security person that became rude was the Female Security Person that Rags kept trying to talk into doing a "strip search" on him! ;-) |
